The best Fajr alarm for iPhone in 2026: 7 things to check, and our pick
By Zakariya Telitel, independent developer of Bedless Fajr (our app) · Last checked
A Fajr alarm has three jobs: ring at the right time, ring when your iPhone is on silent, and get you out of bed. Most of what you'll find on the App Store does one or two of the three.
Our pick
Bedless Fajrour app
It computes Fajr for where you are every day, rings through silent mode as a real system alarm, and stops when a photo of a target picked for you each morning proves you're up.
This ranking is our opinion, and Bedless Fajr is our app. Every fact about it on this page can be checked in the app.

Why “follows Fajr every day” matters
Fajr moves every day, and a lot over a year. Earliest and latest Fajr in 2026, with the angle Bedless Fajr uses by default in each country:
| City | Angle | Earliest Fajr | Latest Fajr | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| London | Angle18° | Earliest Fajr02:30 (June 3) | Latest Fajr06:03 (January 1) | Gap3 h 33 |

Calculated with the Aladhan API on October 21, 2026, local clock time. An alarm set at a fixed time is wrong within days.
7 things to check before you choose
- Fajr computed for where you are, every day. Not a time you type once.
- An angle you can match to your mosque. Authorities use different angles, and it shows on the clock: in Strasbourg on September 7, 2026, Fajr was 05:02 at 18° and 05:44 at 12°. You should be able to pick yours.
- A real system alarm. On iPhone, a notification goes quiet on silent and in Focus. An alarm built on Apple's alarm system rings through both.
- It rings with the app closed, and after a restart. A system alarm is scheduled with iOS, not kept alive by the app.
- It keeps coming back. If you fall asleep again, it rings again.
- Something you can't do from bed. Stop, snooze, shake and most math puzzles can all be done lying down.
- Honest exits and real privacy. Illness, travel or a period: you should be able to skip a morning without breaking anything. And a photo alarm shouldn't keep your photos.
Why Bedless Fajr is our pick
It checks all 7.
- Fajr where you are, computed every day, with your country's usual angle by default (for example 15° in the United States, 18.5° in Saudi Arabia, 20° in Indonesia) and nine angles to choose from in Settings.
- A real system alarm built on Apple's AlarmKit. Once you allow Alarms, it rings through the silent switch and Focus modes, with the app closed and after a restart.
- A photo, not a tap. Each morning a target is picked for you (your sink, your prayer mat unrolled, a glass of water, your toothbrush or siwak), you can't re-roll it, and an AI check accepts or refuses the photo.
- It comes back. Until the photo is accepted, it rings again within two minutes, for up to an hour, never after sunrise.
- Honest exits. “I can't get up” stops today's alarm without a photo. Excused keeps it off during your period without breaking your streak.
- Your photo isn't kept. It's sent for the check and not stored on our servers, and it never goes to your camera roll.
Who it's not for. Android users (it's for iPhone, iOS 26 or later). People who wake up easily, for whom an adhan reminder is enough. People looking for an all-in-one Islamic app with Quran and Qibla: Bedless Fajr does one thing, getting you up for Fajr.
Questions
Which Fajr alarm rings on silent on iPhone?
One built on Apple's alarm system rather than notifications. Bedless Fajr sets a system alarm with AlarmKit: once you allow Alarms, it rings through the silent switch and Focus modes.
Does the iPhone have a built-in Fajr alarm?
No. The Clock app rings at a fixed time, and Fajr changes every day.
Why is my Fajr time different from my mosque's?
Because of the angle. Ask your mosque which one it uses and pick it in Settings.
Does Bedless Fajr check that I prayed?
No. It checks that you're up.
